Local Area
The house is located close to the beautifully pictuesque 'Pueblo Blanco' town of Iznajar which sits a top of a huge rock beside the Iznajar Reservoir. This is the largest lake in Andalusia, and enjoys fantastic views of the surrounding river, lake and countryside. The lake, built in the 1960's is the is the third largest in Spain measuring 32km with 100km of shoreline. If you're interested in your stats, it contains about 900 million cubic meters of water! The lake is known as the Lake of Andalusia and is is a wonderful place to swim, bird watch or fish.
The house is also located close to the entrance to the Sierra Subeticas Natural Park which is a great place to do a range of outdoor activities.
Rute, also on Lake Iznajar and close to the house is reknowned for its production of Anis liqueur, ham, and sweet treats, whilst further afield the historic Andalucian cities of Seville, Cordoba, Granada and Ronda are all within easy reach for a day trip. On the coast, Malaga offers an equally impressive Cathedral, Castle, and Picasso museum all within its restored historical centre, and of course the many beaches of the Costa Del Sol. The nearest golf course is 30 minutes away in Antequerra.
